Monthly Favourites: June/July

The time has come again to look at my favourite products of the past month and this post will cover June and July since I was rather slack at the start of this month in posting this regular feature on Liparazzi!

The Body Shop Honey Bronze Shimmering Dry Oil ¦ Korres Bergamot Pear Shower Gel ¦ Loreal Sublime Bronze Exfotonic Body Polishing Gel

The Body Shop Honey Bronze Shimmering Dry Oil – A truly gorgeous non-greasy body oil that goes hand in hand with a golden tan.  I like to use it on my decolletage, arms and legs for super glowy summer skin.  it has a really flattering slimming effect when applied down the front of your legs!

Korres Bergamot Pear Shower Gel – This gel smells AMAZING and it is the perfect antidote for your morning shower when you are feeling tired and weary.  I love that it only contains natural ingredients and it leaves my skin feeling soft, smooth, hydrated and smelling lovely.

Loreal Sublime Bronze Exfotonic Body Polish Gel – This was always a favourite of mine years ago when they packaged it in a big tub and I was rather perplexed when they stopped making it.  Imagine my delight when I realised that Exfotonic had been re-launched and repackaged this year!  The tube packaging is definitely more practical and the product inside is just as effective as always.  The PERFECT exfoliator to create a really smooth, soft and even base for any self tan products.

Elf Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder in Turks & Caicos ¦ Bobbi Brown Beige Shimmer Brick ¦ Ben Nye Banana Luxury Powder

Elf Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder – It’s not often you can find a really great blush and contour duo for under £4!  This nifty little compact from Elf is a much cheaper version of offerings from the likes of Nars but just as effective and equal in the pigmentation stakes.  The contour powder contains very subtle shimmer which is perfect for contouring areas on the face and accentuating your summer glow.  I like to apply it along my hairline, down my nose, under my cheekbones and under my jawline.  The blush is very similar to Nars Orgasm and a really lovely shade for summer.

Bobbi Brown Beige Shimmer Brick – I took this compact on holiday to Cornwall with me and it just looks so pretty when used on the height of your cheekbones, browbones, down the centre of the nose and on the cupids bow.  It adds that gorgeous sheeny glow that makes your skin look ultra healthy and radiant.  I want it in ever shade!

Ben Nye Banana Luxury Powder – I won’t harp on too much about this product as I did a full review of it in June here but what I will say is that it has become a permanent fixture in my daily beauty routine.  It sets your under-eye concealer beautifully and perks up any darkness that is lingering there.  A must have product for those of you who want to achieve that really polished makeup look.

Essie Bikini So Teeny ¦ MAC Morange Amplified Lipstick ¦ MAC Candy Yum Yum ¦ MAC Full Speed Sheen Supreme Lipstick ¦ MAC Amber Lights Eyeshadow

Essie Bikini So Teeny – I have had so many compliments on the colour of my nails when I wear this. It seems to stop people in their tracks and it looks great against a tan.  It’s a very delicate shade of cornflower blue with the tiniest hint of shimmer.  It could easily be mistaken for a pale lilac in some lights.  What I love about it is that it lends itself to so many contrasting colours – in particular it really pops when worn with bright coral or yellow clothing!

MAC Morange Amplified Lipstick, MAC Candy Yum Yum and MAC Full Speed Sheen Supreme Lipstick – Ok, I admit it – I went on a bit of a MAC spree lately but I had good cause because they seem to be producing the most gorgeous of on-trend lip shades!  Morange is a gorgeous bold orange, Candy Yum Yum is a neon pink and Full Speed is a shiny yellow pink/coral. You can see how they all look once applied/swatched in my recent posts about them here and here.

MAC Amber Lights Eyeshadow – This shade was made for the warm months of summer – a peachy brown with shimmer.  It applies as a pale bronze and is the perfect shade to make the most of blue eyes!  I have found that it works extremely well with MAC Woodwinked in the crease and a bit of MAC Mulch in the outer corners.  You can keep it light and fresh for summer days or smoke it out with Mulch for something more dramatic and sultry.  The choice is yours!
